There are lots of local attractions. With Loch Lomond only a short drive away and an abundance of beautiful walks or for the more adventurous, munroes to climb and historical places to explore. Stirling Castle, Inchmahome Priory and The National Wallace Monument to name but a few.
Off the beaten track, enjoy views from your car or road bike and there are plenty of trails for MTB lovers.
Nearby and surrounding villages have great local pubs, restaurants and shops only a short drive away together with the busier towns of Callander and Aberfoyle.
You can enjoy some local fishing, only a 15 minute drive away, (6 miles) on the beautiful Lake of Menteith which is a great venue for fly fishing or trout fishing.
Inchmahome Priory is set on an island and reached by a short boat ride, also on the Lake of Menteith.
Other Castles close by are the famous Stirling Castle, Doune and Balloch Castle, where there is also a Country Park.
The cities of Stirling can be reached in 20 minutes (14 miles) Glasgow 45 minutes (25 miles) and Edinburgh 60 minutes (49 miles) they have numerous amazing attractions to suit all tastes.
Many golf courses surround the area, with Aberfoyle and Stirling being nearby for non-members. Gleneagles is only a 40 minute drive away, and St. Andrews 1hr 30mins.
Only 10 minutes away by car is the Blair Drummond Safari Park which is a brilliant day out, for not only children but adults too.
Beautiful woodland walks can be found in Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Aberfoyle. There is also an Educational Centre and cafe' and for the more adventurous, a Go Ape zip wire which goes through the trees in the Park.
