Guidelines for bringing dogs to the Bothy Claymires
We know how important it is to be able to take your dog with you on holidays.
We are more than happy to welcome well behaved dogs to the Bothy.
This is on the understanding that your dog does not climb onto the furniture and is not allowed on the bed. You are responsible for any damage caused by your dog
(it is a condition of any booking that you agree to these terms regarding dogs).
If you have a puppy, it will be welcome, so long as you are confident that it is house trained, and/or maybe in a training cage at night.
Please do not leave your dog alone at the property during your stay.
There is a £10 charge per stay (maximum of 2), payable before arrival.
When you inform me you are bringing your dog with you, I will let you have bank details to enable you to transfer the payment. If you have difficulty with this (particularly overseas visitors) I am happy for you to leave cash in the property, when vacating.
We are lucky to have our own glen at the rear of the property (to the side of the Bothy) together with a burn. You are welcome to walk your dog along the path through the glen and can sit and enjoy the Bothy garden, but we ask that your dog is supervised and not allowed to bark excessively, respect ourselves and neighbours, and that you clean any dog mess from the garden. Please do not let your dog into our private garden or pond.
We are situated in between two farms, with fences to all sides but please keep an eye on your dog so as not to stray into neighbouring fields, to protect farm animals.
There is an outdoor tap and sink at the back of the Bothy for muddy paws and boots, but please bring your own dog bedding/throws, towels, bowls etc. There are spare towels for emergencies. Also provided are some poo bags, a dog blanket if needed and a few treats.
You will find many lovely walks in the area for you and your furry friend to enjoy and many pubs/eateries locally welcome well behaved dogs. (Please see the information book).
